BendPak Lift Parts: How to Identify, What We Stock, and Fitment Help

Alignment Machine For Sale Boca Raton, FL

Contact Us

BendPak lift parts are the wear items on BendPak-brand vehicle lifts – the XPR-series 2-posts (XPR-10, XPR-10S, XPR-12CL, XPR-15CL), the HDS-series heavy-duty 2-posts (HDS-14, HDS-18, HDS-27), and the HD-series 4-posts. This page walks through what we stock, how to identify the right BendPak lift parts for your specific lift, and how the fitment-check process works when you are not sure which number matches.

How to identify your BendPak lift for BendPak lift parts ordering

Every BendPak lift has a serial plate on one of the columns showing model, serial, and rated capacity. On the XPR-series 2-post it is typically on the drive-side column, waist-high, front face. On HDS heavy-duty 2-posts and HD 4-posts, similar placement. Snap a phone photo of that plate before you call – the model plus serial plus your description of the symptom gets us to the right BendPak lift parts SKU in minutes.

The model tells us the parts family. XPR-series uses one catalog, HDS-series is another, and HD 4-posts are a third. Parts do not always cross between families, so we want to make sure we are in the right catalog before quoting.

BendPak lift parts we stock and source

Equalizer cables and lifting cables

The highest-turn BendPak lift parts by volume. Every BendPak 2-post uses a cable-driven equalizer system that ties the two carriages mechanically. Cables stretch, individual strands fatigue, and the safety authority (ALI) says take the lift out of service when broken strands are visible. Always replace as a matched pair.

Hydraulic cylinders and seal kits

Symptoms: lift dropping under load, bleeding down overnight, dripping fluid. Sometimes a seal kit fixes it, sometimes the cylinder body needs replacing. Tell us the symptom before you order and we will steer to the cheaper repair when it will actually work.

Arm restraints and pad adapters

BendPak XPR arms have a specific pin-and-restraint geometry. When the pins wear, the arms droop under load – do not tighten and hope, replace the restraint hardware. Pad adapters (screw-up, flip-up truck, low-profile car) are all common orders.

Lock ladders, lock cables, and safety systems

Safety-critical. Never run lock parts that are not catching cleanly.

Power units, motors, and electrical

Complete replacement power units for XPR-series, motor start contactors, up-buttons, thermal overload switches, pressure hoses between the power unit and the cylinders.

BendPak lift parts by lift family

XPR-series 2-post BendPak lift parts

The volume-selling BendPak 2-post lineup: XPR-10A, XPR-10AS, XPR-10S, XPR-12CL, XPR-15CL. Common parts orders: equalizer cable sets, arm restraint kits, cylinder assemblies and seal kits, lock ladder sets.

HDS-series heavy-duty 2-post BendPak lift parts

The HDS lineup covers medium-duty and heavy-duty applications: HDS-14LSX, HDS-14X, HDS-18E, HDS-27, HDS-35. Cables, cylinders, and lock hardware in this family are different physical sizes than XPR – do not cross-shop numbers.

HD-series 4-post BendPak lift parts

HD-9, HD-14, and heavier 4-posts. Common parts: cable sets, drive-off ramp hardware, safety lock ladders. If your lift has a rolling jack, mention it on the call for the accessory parts.

Availability notes on BendPak lift parts

BendPak lift parts availability is generally decent but lead times sometimes run longer than Rotary or Challenger parts, especially on the heavier HDS models. If your lift is down and a shop cannot run, mention it on the call and we will do what we can to route the fastest option. Sometimes there is a workable OEM-equivalent cross-reference that ships faster than the BendPak factory number.

OEM versus aftermarket BendPak lift parts

For safety-critical parts (cables, cylinders, lock ladders, seals) we recommend OEM or true OEM-equivalent. Tolerances on load-bearing parts are exact. Save aftermarket for consumables (fluid, decals, cosmetic covers, general mounting hardware).

Install and service help

Some BendPak lift parts are DIY-friendly for a shop tech – cables, pads, hoses. Others are jobs where a mistake creates a safety problem – complete cylinder swaps, lock ladder replacements, power unit changes. Our install crews handle these regularly and can quote a service visit alongside your parts order. Central Iowa is our home service zone; outside we handle remote diagnosis-plus-shipped-parts, which works well when your team is comfortable on the wrench work but wants a second opinion on which parts to order.

What to do if you are not sure

Call 800-674-9302 with your BendPak model, serial, and symptom description. Photo of the failed part or symptom closes the diagnosis fast. We do not push BendPak lift parts you do not need – if the fix is a $50 seal kit instead of a $600 cylinder we tell you.

Wear expectations on BendPak lift parts

How long do BendPak lift parts actually last? Rough field guidance: XPR-series equalizer cables typically last 8 to 12 years on a busy shop lift, longer on a home garage lift running only a few times a week. Hydraulic cylinders last 10 to 15 years before seal replacement, often 20+ before the cylinder body itself needs replacing. Arm restraint pins go 10 years or more on average. Power units and motors usually last the life of the lift with basic maintenance (fluid changes on schedule, keeping the reservoir clean, and not letting the pump run dry). Neglected lifts wear out much faster – if you have never changed the hydraulic fluid on your BendPak, that is often the fix for a lift that just feels tired even before individual BendPak lift parts start failing outright.

BendPak lift parts on older lifts

If your BendPak is 15 or 20 years old and the manufacturer no longer produces the exact part number, we can usually source a functional equivalent. Cable specs (length, end fittings, diameter) are documented enough to spec a matching set from a current production line. Cylinder assemblies sometimes require modest cross-referencing to find the closest match. Send the plate photo and let us look up what fits.

Common questions on BendPak lift parts orders

Are BendPak-branded parts and third-party equivalents interchangeable? For load-bearing items (cables, cylinders, locks) we recommend genuine BendPak or true OEM-equivalent. For consumables (pads, decals, hardware) either works.

How fast do BendPak lift parts orders ship? In-stock items ship same-day when ordered by early afternoon Central time. Non-stock items come from the factory in three to ten business days depending on the part and current factory inventory.

Can you install BendPak lift parts for me? Yes, our install crews handle service visits on any brand. Central Iowa local; outside we handle remote diagnosis plus shipped parts.

Frequently asked questions

How do I identify my BendPak lift?

Look at the serial plate on one of the columns. It shows the model (XPR-10AS, HDS-14LSX, etc.), serial, and capacity. Take a phone photo and share it along with your symptom.

Do BendPak lift parts cross to Rotary or Challenger?

No. BendPak is a separate parts family from Rotary/Forward (VSG) and from Challenger. We source BendPak lift parts directly from BendPak’s distribution network.

How long do BendPak lift cables last?

8 to 12 years on a busy shop lift, longer on a home garage lift used only a few times a week. Any visible strand break means take out of service per ALI.

Are BendPak lift parts hard to get?

Generally decent availability but lead times sometimes run longer than Rotary or Challenger equivalents, especially on the heavier HDS models.

Do you handle BendPak warranty claims?

Yes. BendPak warranties the lift directly, but we help file claims and coordinate service on lifts we sold.
