Eight: identify overhead obstructions — garage door tracks, HVAC, lights. Nine: plan the freight unload — dolly, forklift, or lift-gate. Ten: schedule an install date that lines up with concrete cure if any pad work is required. Miss any of those and the install turns into a problem. Concrete Check Before You Sign

Ceiling Clearance for an Overhead Design
Ankeny suburban garages typically run 8 to 10 foot ceilings with truss rafters overhead. A 2 post car lift overhead design needs 11 feet minimum for a 9K residential or 12 feet for a 10K commercial. Baseplate designs work under 10 feet but eat 3 inches of rise. What Wheel Bearing Work Actually Demands
Wheel bearing service is one of the most common jobs a 2 post car lift performs in a home garage. The tech pulls the wheel, removes the caliper and rotor, presses the old bearing out with a slide hammer or hub tamer, presses the new bearing in, torques the axle nut to spec (200 to 250 foot-pounds on most cars), and reassembles. Every one of those steps loads the lift arm at a specific angle. Symmetric arms work fine because the wheel is exposed regardless of geometry.
