Myth 2: Atlas will not cover a lift installed by a third party

What Atlas actually requires is that a car lift atlas is installed to spec — concrete thickness, anchor pattern, torque values, ceiling clearance, and a working shakedown. Ask for the install checklist, keep the anchor torque record, and photograph the label. That paperwork is the protection.
The real claim workflow
Here is what actually happens when something breaks. Step one: photograph the failure and the serial tag. Step two: call us or the manufacturer directly with model, serial, and install date. Step three: describe the failure mode — not “the lift is broken,” but “the passenger-side lock will not release and the audible latch does not click.” Step four: a case number opens, and either a replacement part ships against warranty or a diagnostic sequence gets sent. Step five: we, or the shop, install the replacement and return the failed part per the case instructions.
