The overhead crossbeam only matters when a tall SUV is on the pads – and most restoration projects are older cars and light trucks, not tall modern SUVs. Baseplate makes sense when your ceiling is genuinely under 12 feet or when you’re doing body-off work on a rotisserie that needs to swing free. Both configurations get the same warranty and parts backing from us. This is a fit decision, not a quality decision.
Decision branch three: warranty coverage in real terms
Warranty is the branch that most shops read the pamphlet on and never actually test. Here’s how it works in practice for a 2 post car lift bought from us. On any 2 post car lift, the parts that wear on a predictable schedule are: equalizer cables (five to eight years for a restoration shop’s usage cycle), cylinder seals (ten to fifteen years), arm restraint gears (fifteen to twenty), and hydraulic fluid (three years or as needed by color).
