Question Five: What Cable Inspection Schedule Are You On?
For a 2-post lift, the cables are equalizer cables. They synchronize the two columns so they rise and fall together. They carry no direct vehicle load (the hydraulics do that on each side), but they carry the load equalization, and if they fail, the two columns can rise unevenly and drop a vehicle sideways.
