A two-post is awkward for alignments because the wheels hang free once the arms lift the frame, which means a fleet tech would need a separate turnplate setup or a portable alignment shim system if he wanted to do alignments in-house. The 14K capacity covered all eighteen vehicles including both flatbeds, which was the specific advantage over the two-post. It also gave the tech an in-house option for wheel alignments because the runways stay level under load. The downsides were floor footprint, install cost, and the fact that underbody access is slightly obstructed by the runways themselves when doing certain suspension bushing jobs.
