ALI certification, insurance, and third-party inspection cadence

Heavy-duty truck shops working with commercial fleet customers usually carry insurance requirements that include annual ALI-qualified lift inspections. That is a non-negotiable line item. A qualified inspector, either us or another ALI-certified firm, comes on site, works through a formal checklist, tags the lift with a dated inspection sticker, and provides a written report the shop keeps for insurance purposes. Miss the inspection and the insurance carrier can decline coverage on any incident related to that lift.

Cost per inspection is a few hundred dollars per column for a heavy-duty setup, done annually. That is money most shop owners groan about the first time and appreciate the fifth time when the inspector catches a developing issue before it becomes a failure.
