Fleet mechanics tend to have strong preferences on this and it is worth asking the crew what they have run before. The advantage over a fixed heavy-duty two-post is that the columns can be repositioned to fit any wheelbase, and they can be moved out of the bay when the shop needs the floor space for other work.
