If a restoration shop plans to do heavy driveline work weekly, an overhead lift with clear floor access is faster than a baseplate lift with a small floor plate to roll a jack over. This is not a make-or-break decision, but it is a meaningful workflow decision worth thinking through before install.

For pure car restoration, ten-thousand-pound is normally fine. For shops that occasionally handle a Roadmaster, a Cadillac limo, or a pickup restoration, twelve is a better hedge. Fifteen is overkill for most restoration work unless the shop does trucks specifically.
