Myth 1: Every Lift Needs Rebar-Reinforced Concrete

The myth we hear most is that rebar is mandatory under a four post alignment lift, full stop. It isn’t. What matters is the compressive strength and thickness of the slab, not whether there’s steel mesh or rebar tied into it. A properly poured 4,000 PSI slab at the required thickness will hold an atlas four post car lift without any reinforcement at all, because the load is spread across four columns rather than concentrated on two posts like an inground or two-post configuration.
