Most manufacturers specify a minimum 4-inch slab for lighter capacity lifts, but we tell every farm shop owner along the Iowa-Nebraska border to plan for 4.5 to 6 inches if you’re running anything in the 10,000 to 12,000 lb range, which is common for shops servicing trucks, skid steers, and heavy trailers.
