The Automotive Lift Institute runs a third-party certification program administered through an accredited lab. A Gold Label on a lift means that specific model — not the brand, not the product line, the individual model and capacity — was submitted for testing and passed the ANSI/ALI ALCTV standard for construction, testing, and validation. It covers structural load testing at 150 percent of rated capacity, safety device function, hydraulic and electrical requirements, and the accuracy of the manuals and labels that ship with it.
What it does not mean is that a brand is certified across the board.
