We tell every fleet customer to check cable tension and arm restraint pins weekly, not monthly, because a lift running two or three truck swaps a day wears these components faster than the manual’s default schedule assumes.

Hydraulic fluid condition is the other item fleets tend to skip. A Challenger 10K lift pushing a full-size pickup up and down all day generates more heat in the power unit than an occasional-use bay lift, and fluid that looks fine at a glance can still be breaking down internally. We recommend fleets keep a spare filter and a quart of the correct fluid on hand so a scheduled fluid change doesn’t turn into a half-day wait on parts from a supplier three hours away.

What Fleet Owners Ask Before They Order

The most common question is whether a used unit makes sense for a fleet just getting started. We’re honest about this — a used Challenger 10K lift can be a fine option if the cylinders and cables have been inspected and the safety locks work correctly, but we always insist on inspecting it ourselves before installation rather than taking a seller’s word for it. Fleet trucks are heavy and used daily; this isn’t the place to gamble on unknown lift history.

The second most common question is about install timing. Fleet owners want their bay down for as little time as possible, and we plan installs around slower weeks when possible so a shop isn’t losing service capacity during peak boat and camper season. A properly scheduled install with the electrical work already roughed in typically takes a single day from arrival to first cycle test.
