Skipping the second number is how shops end up with a lift sitting in a truck bed for three weeks because the pad needs four inches of properly cured concrete and nobody budgeted for a contractor. Once you have both numbers, you can work down through configurations — two-post alignment rack, four-post with a rolling jack, or a scissor lift with alignment turnplates — without falling in love with equipment you can’t actually afford to get running.

Read the actual warranty document, not the sales sheet. Ask specifically: does the warranty cover parts only, or parts and labor? Does it require the lift to have been installed by a certified installer, and does DIY installation void it?

Factor that into your shop’s schedule, especially if you’re opening a new bay or expanding around a known contract.
