Item One: Know Your Slab Thickness Before You Order

Item Five: Distance From Walls, Doors, and Overhead Obstructions

You need enough vertical clearance for the lift’s maximum rise height, plus room around the platform for techs to move safely while working on a differential or driveline underneath a raised vehicle.

Before committing to a purchase, ask whoever is selling you the lift for the exact anchor bolt specification and minimum slab requirement for that specific model, in writing. Anchor requirements vary between manufacturers and even between models from the same brand, and a generic answer isn’t good enough when you’re talking about a slab in a decades-old farm building.
Also ask whether they’ll physically inspect your slab before installation or whether that’s your responsibility to confirm.
