We landed on a 4-post platform with a full-length runway deck, which let him drive a truck up, lock it in storage position, and still have clear floor space underneath for the second vehicle. Wheelbase mattered too — his tractor and straight truck had noticeably different axle spacing, so we confirmed the platform’s adjustable rear stops could accommodate both without a second install. Installation Day: What Actually Took the Longest

Contrary to what a lot of first-time buyers expect, the lift installation itself wasn’t the slowest part of the project — the anchoring cure time and electrical run were. Once the reinforced pad had cured to spec, our crew set the columns, ran the runway sections, and got the hydraulic and safety systems calibrated in about a day and a half. The bigger time investment was running dedicated electrical service out to the pole building, since his existing panel wasn’t sized for the lift’s power draw alongside his shop lighting and compressor.

We also spent real time on the leveling and calibration step, because semi truck lifts depend on precise synchronization between posts to lift evenly under an off-center load like a straight truck’s box body.
