After the two-week trial, we recommended the fleet move forward with the tilt-back tire changer, primarily because their volume and vehicle mix justified the upgrade cost within a reasonable payback period. We also recommended they trade in the old pedestal unit rather than keep it as a backup, since the trade-in value only gets lower the longer an outdated machine sits unused in a bay.
Every fleet’s situation is different, and we don’t push every shop toward the more expensive machine by default.
