Every ALI-certified lift carries a serial or data plate, usually riveted to one of the columns about chest height, or on the power unit. Model numbers carry real information. On a Rotary “SPOA10,” the SP indicates a two-post surface-mounted lift, OA indicates an asymmetric overhead style, and 10 indicates the 10,000-lb capacity class.
