Asymmetric two-post lifts angle the front arms outward and shift the rear arms back, positioning the columns further from the vehicle’s center. That geometry opens up clear space directly under the engine, transmission, and driveline, which is exactly where farm shop work tends to concentrate. If exhaust and driveline access is a real part of your routine and not just an occasional afterthought, asymmetric arms make that work noticeably easier every single time you’re under the vehicle.
The design does require slightly more precise drive-on positioning since the arm geometry is matched to specific vehicle pickup points, and it typically costs a bit more than a comparable symmetric model.
