Start With the Slab: Concrete Is the Requirement That Fails Most Often

Every manufacturer publishes a minimum: typically 4 inches of 3,000 PSI concrete for a light-duty two-post, 4.25 to 6 inches for 10,000 to 12,000 lb models, and more for heavy-duty. Those numbers assume the concrete is cured at least 28 days, is unreinforced-but-sound, and extends well past the baseplate in every direction.
