EV manufacturers have moved lift points around to avoid battery housings, structural rails, and high-voltage components, and that means the arms on an older two-post lift sometimes can’t extend far enough or swing to the right angle. This is a quiet failure point that doesn’t show up until a technician is already trying to get a vehicle in the air.

Four-post lifts still have their place, especially for tire work, general storage, or shops that need a drive-on setup for quick service without worrying about finding lift points at all. If your shop’s EV volume is mostly tire rotations and inspections, a four-post with a rolling jack for battery-area access might be the more practical, lower-cost choice. Concrete and Anchoring Requirements Don’t Disappear
