Traditional swing arm pads and rubber blocks were designed around a world of body-on-frame trucks and unibody cars with predictable pinch welds. EVs change that equation completely. The battery pack often runs the full length and width of the vehicle’s underbody, and manufacturers only leave a handful of reinforced contact points strong enough to carry the car’s weight. Land a standard round pad an inch off target and you’re pressing directly on a battery case, a high-voltage conduit, or a structural rail that was never rated for point loading.
