The shop we’re describing runs metal work on trucks, tractors, and classic cars, and they needed to decide between a heavier asymmetric two-post rated for their diesel trucks and a lighter symmetric two-post for daily sedan work. On paper the price difference between the two wasn’t huge, but the freight quotes told a different story. Concrete, Pit Questions, and Site Readiness

Once the crate is off the truck, the next logistics question is what floor it’s landing on. A 2 post car lift needs a slab that meets the manufacturer’s thickness and cure-time specs, and we get this question constantly from shops and fleets who assumed any concrete floor would work. Older farm shops and pole buildings along the border sometimes have thinner or older slabs than a standard commercial bay, and that’s something we check before we ever schedule an install crew, not something we discover with an anchor drill in hand.

Freight logistics aren’t only about new equipment.
