Others want a drive-on four-post — something in the Forward or Rotary line — because it’s faster to load a race car with low ground clearance and splitter overhang without hunting for pinch-weld contact points. We’ve installed both configurations for teams running the same class of car, and the honest answer is it comes down to how the crew works, not which one is objectively better.

If the shop also does alignment or corner-weighting between events, the four-post with rolling jacks wins almost every time, since it doubles as a flat, stable platform for that work. If the bay is strictly a service bay — fluids, brakes, suspension swaps — the two-post frees up floor space and costs less installed. We walk through both scenarios with every race team before quoting, because guessing wrong on configuration means a redo down the road.

The Forklift Question Nobody Asks Until It’s Too Late

Freight is where installs go sideways. A 4-post lift or a pair of two-post units ships on a truck that expects to drop the crates at the dock and leave — most freight carriers will not hand-unload a lift weighing well over a thousand pounds per crate.
