CV axle and half-shaft replacement is different from a basic brake job. The wheels need to hang free, the suspension needs to droop naturally, and in a lot of front-drive and AWD platforms you’re pulling a hub assembly or dropping a knuckle to slide the shaft out. That means the tech needs unobstructed access to the wheel well and the underside of the front subframe at the same time, without the arms or pads crowding the work area.
