It’s a fit choice, not a quality choice.

Myth two: overhead is always faster to load

The second myth: overhead clearfloor is always faster to load because you don’t have to drive over a bar. Myth four: EVs need a special lift class

The fourth myth is that EVs need some special class of 2 post car lift. Not really. What EVs need is the right pad kit and enough capacity for the actual vehicle weight, which is often higher than the equivalent ICE model. A Tesla Model X or Rivian R1S can weigh 6,000 to 7,000 lbs empty – well within a 10,000 lb lift’s rating, but eating margin on a smaller lift. A Ford F-150 Lightning is 6,500 lbs unloaded, well above a base-model gas F-150.
