Scissor Configuration: What a Fleet Shop Actually Gets

That’s a detail worth flagging early with your installer regardless of which configuration you choose, because floor heat and radiant tubing change how anchors get set.

Uneven rise, where one side of the platform reaches height before the other, almost always points to cable stretch or a slipping anchor, and it’s the most common complaint we hear on alignment machine with lift setups that have been in service five-plus years without cable replacement. A grinding or popping sound during travel is another red flag, often meaning a cable has jumped its pulley groove.

A shop doing mostly passenger cars and light SUVs doesn’t need 16K capacity and the floor space it demands. A shop running dually pickups and cargo vans needs the extra capacity and the longer runways, even if that means a bigger footprint and more careful bay planning.

Before you commit, walk through your last month of repair orders and count what actually rolled through your alignment bay. That data tells you more than any brochure.
