Tool boxes, cabinets, and welding carts want to be within one step of the lift arms, not on the other side of the bay. The mistake we see in a lot of restoration shops — the roll-cabs live against the far wall because that’s where they landed on move-in day. If your welding table is 15 feet from the lift, you are walking 30 feet round-trip every time you tack a patch panel. Move the roll cab against the back wall of the bay, put the welding cart on the same side as the walkway, and keep the front of the lift clear for the vehicle approach.
