The first configuration we quoted was the Rotary SPOA10 asymmetric two-post at 10,000 lb capacity with wide extended-length front arms. This is a proven combination for a shop that sees light truck and crossover work alongside cars. The asymmetric column rotation puts the driver door clear of the column once the vehicle is raised, which matters on alignment days when a tech is climbing in and out to check the steering wheel every few adjustments. Overall lifting height sits at roughly 74 inches under the pad at full rise, and total column height is 145 inches. Cedar Falls’s 12-foot ceiling made that a comfortable fit with room to spare.

For a shop that does more passenger cars than trucks, symmetric loading gives predictable arm swing on every pickup and shortens the setup time. Others treat it like a general commercial loan against equipment collateral, and the rate lands in the same neighborhood as a routine vehicle loan. Payment Schedule: 90 Days Deferred Then a 12-Month Plan
The final structure was straightforward. Delivery and install happened in week one of April. First Business Bank funded the invoice on delivery day and the shop’s first payment was due 90 days later, in early July. That gave the shop a full quarter to run vehicles across the new equipment and generate the revenue that would cover the payments before any cash went out the door. Once payments started, they were spread across 12 monthly installments at 0 percent, keeping monthly cash out below what one solid alignment day of ticketed labor was already generating consistently by month two.
We usually recommend the 12-month term over the longer 24 or 36 month options when the shop’s cash flow can support it. Longer terms make the monthly number look smaller but they push total interest exposure up if the promo period expires and the loan rolls to a standard rate. On a 12-month term the loan is retired before the first anniversary of the install and the equipment is fully unencumbered by the next tax year. Site Prep the Cedar Falls Shop Handled Before Delivery
