Ceiling height reality

For a two-post lift with 12-foot columns, you need clearance for the overhead bar at the top of the columns plus clearance for the tallest vehicle you will lift at full working height. On a truck with a roof rack or a lifted overland rig, that math tightens fast. A 12-foot pole-barn sidewall gives about 12 feet of usable height inside; a residential garage with 8-foot ceilings does not fit a full 12-foot two-post at all.

The Marion buyer had 220V run to his pole barn but only 15-amp service on the specific circuit he wanted to use. That would not work.
We recommended he upgrade the circuit to 20-amp with a dedicated breaker and #12 wire. That was an hour of electrician time and it turned a problem circuit into a solid one.
