Most of the shops we talk to start out picturing a standard two-post bay, the kind you’d see in any general repair shop. But RVs, travel trailers, and fifth wheels are long, heavy, and awkward to position, and that changes everything about how auto lifts installed in that space need to sit. We spend a lot of the pre-install conversation just talking through drive-through clearance, door height, and whether the unit needs to roll straight in and straight out without a three-point turn in a cramped bay.

A shop can have the best auto lifts installed in the county and still run into trouble if daily maintenance isn’t part of the routine. For RV and trailer work specifically, that means checking cable or chain tension more often than a typical passenger car shop would, since the loads are heavier and more concentrated on fewer contact points. We walk every new owner through a simple daily and weekly checklist — visual inspection of anchors, listening for uneven motor sound, checking hydraulic fluid level, and confirming the locks engage cleanly on every cycle.
