Myth #4: Concrete Readiness Doesn’t Matter Differently for Heavier EV Vehicles

We ask the same questions on every install — is there a pit, how thick and how old is the concrete, is the floor level — but for EV-focused bays we look even closer at anchor spacing given the higher average vehicle weight rolling through.

Myth #6: Once Auto Lifts Installed, You’re Done Thinking About Maintenance

A lift that sees heavier average vehicle weight from EVs and hybrids needs more frequent attention to cables, hydraulics, and locking mechanisms, not less. We’ve done inspections on shops running mixed EV and combustion fleets where the wear pattern on cables and locks was noticeably ahead of what we’d see in a typical shop, simply because of the weight difference.

Building a maintenance schedule in from day one — inspection intervals, cable and hydraulic checks, lock mechanism testing — keeps small issues from becoming the kind of failure that takes a bay offline for a week. We treat this as part of the installation conversation, not an afterthought, especially for shops running heavier EV and hybrid platforms daily.

Myth #7: Any Installer Can Handle an EV-Focused Driveline Bay the Same Way

General lift installation experience doesn’t automatically translate to EV-focused driveline work. The lift point differences, the weight considerations, and the ALI Gold documentation requirements all shift the install approach in ways a shop new to EV work might not know to ask about.
