A 4-inch slab poured for a passenger car to park on is not the same as a slab built to anchor a two-post lift that will be cycling a 5,000-plus pound BMW or Sprinter van up and down all day. Anchor bolts need real embedment depth and undisturbed concrete around them to hold under lateral load, and a thin, unreinforced pour just doesn’t give them that.
