Working exhaust and driveline jobs on jack stands is miserable, and it’s dangerous once you’re dealing with heavy cast manifolds, catalytic converters, or a full driveshaft hanging loose. The tradeoff is that the runways themselves can get in the way of certain exhaust or driveline tasks unless you add a rolling jack or sliding jack tray, which most four-post packages include or can have added. Freight carriers will call ahead to schedule a delivery window, and that call usually includes the question we ask every customer up front: do you have a forklift on site, or access to one?

If you don’t have a forklift, that’s not a dealbreaker, but it does change your options. Some carriers can provide a liftgate truck for an added freight charge, and in some cases we can coordinate delivery to our shop or a local rigging contact and handle the last leg ourselves. What we don’t want is a truck showing up to a rural address with no way to get a 600-plus pound crate off the trailer, because that turns into a rescheduled delivery and lost time. Concrete, Ceiling Height, and Site Readiness

Before any lift gets ordered, we ask about your slab. Customers often ask if there’s a box they can run an extension cord to, or if it needs to be hardwired directly — and the honest answer depends on the specific lift model and your garage’s existing electrical setup. Air requirements are usually minimal for home units, but if you’re adding air-operated locks or accessories, you’ll want a compressor with enough capacity nearby.
