Battery skateboards are heavier than a comparable gas platform. Pinch-weld locations are different. And half the arms designed for a Camry will foul the underbody trays on a Model Y or a Mach-E. Myth: Any 10K Lift Will Handle a Model Y

The first myth we hear is that any 10,000-pound lift can safely align a Tesla Model Y. It can hold the weight. A dual-motor Long Range comes in around 4,555 pounds curb, well under the plate rating. But holding the weight is not the same as holding the vehicle level while you sweep a plate and take measurements. Alignment work requires the lift’s runways or turnplates to sit dead flat and stay dead flat while you tug on tie rods. The factory pucks are farther inboard than a traditional pickup. If you swing a truck-length arm assuming a Silverado-style rocker pinch, you’ll miss the puck by six inches. What Model Numbers Actually Tell You (and Hide)

They engage the same reinforced pucks the lift pads engage, they don’t require you to crawl under the vehicle with a floor jack next to a battery, and they let you drop and re-set wheels in about 30 seconds each.
