The panel had 200-amp service and a dedicated 30-amp double-pole breaker for the lift. That is standard for a 10,000 lb 2-post. Larger lifts might need 40 amps. Smaller mid-rise scissors sometimes run on 110-volt single-phase, which simplifies electrical but slows lift speed considerably. Our mobile mechanic chose 220 for speed. The lift install day in real time
Delivery arrived at 8:00 a.m. with the two columns, overhead beam, arms, cables, and hydraulic package on our flatbed. We rolled the columns off, staged them at their marked positions, and verified column base plate alignment with a chalk line before drilling. Anchor drilling took 45 minutes across eight anchor points. We torqued to spec, set the overhead beam by 10:30, ran cables and equalization by 11:30, and started fluid fill by noon.
Bleed-and-cycle took 90 minutes because the hydraulic circuit takes a few full cycles to purge air. By 2:00 p.m. we were doing safety-lock engagement tests, going up three inches, checking lock click, coming down, and repeating.
