A hobbyist buys a lift once and hopes to never see us again except for parts. A race team buys a lift and expects it to be beat on. Diff pulls between practice and race day. Wheel and tire swaps in the middle of the night. Trailer axle checks the Tuesday before a haul. That volume changes what we recommend. For a hobbyist, an entry-level four-post is fine. For a racing crew chief, we push toward commercial-grade Rotary or Challenger even in a home garage — the duty cycle isn’t hobbyist duty cycle. We also pay more attention to warranty and parts availability, because a lift that’s down mid-week is a lift that’s not helping the team make the trailer on Friday. Manufacturer warranty on the lifts we sell breaks into three buckets: structure, hydraulics, and wear items. Rotary and Challenger cover the structure — posts, arms, carriages — for five years on their commercial-grade lines. Hydraulic cylinders and power units carry one to two years. Wear items — cables, hoses, arm-restraint gears — are one year, and honestly they’re consumables anyway if you’re running hard. Off-brand lifts often advertise a longer number but the fine print pulls it back — pro-rated after year one, no labor, no freight on replacement parts. Read that fine print.
