A differential service bay isn’t a general tire-and-oil lane. Techs need clear frame access with nothing blocking the drivetrain, and they’re often working with heavier half-ton and three-quarter-ton trucks up on the arms for extended periods while fluid drains and refills. That means the arms need enough reach to clear the pinch weld sweep spots without the truck rocking, and the overhead beam height matters if the bay has a lower ceiling or shop lighting hanging down.
