Every checklist we hand out begins with a hammer drill and a tape measure. Wheels-free access is what you actually need for the work, and the footprint is smaller. The tradeoff is that it demands good concrete, careful arm placement on every vehicle, and a habit of checking lift points against the manufacturer’s diagram rather than eyeballing the pinch weld.

A four-post wins if storage is part of the plan, if the slab is questionable, or if the person using it wants a lift you drive onto without thinking about balance. Add a rolling bridge jack and you recover most of the wheels-free capability for brake work.
