Myth one: EVs need a special car lift automotive setup

Myth three: EVs eliminate fluid-service work

Reduction-gear-set lubricant on the electric drive units requires periodic replacement. Cabin-cooling loops need attention. Even oil changes on the shop’s own equipment continue: the lift’s hydraulic power unit still needs fluid on the same schedule as any other shop. It does not point toward paying a premium for a purpose-built EV lift that does not exist in any objectively different form from a well-specified standard commercial lift.
Myth five: the twenty-year lift decision is a technology decision
It is not. It is a durability decision. Whether the vehicles a shop services in 2045 are electric, hydrogen, hybrid, or something not yet imagined, the lift will still need to raise a two-to-six-thousand-pound vehicle to a working height and hold it there safely. That mechanical requirement has not changed in a hundred years and is unlikely to change in the next twenty.
