Why Freight Planning Is Half the Battle in Cedar Rapids

Cedar Rapids has a mix of light industrial streets and older brick buildings that were laid out before 53-foot flatbeds were the norm. Unloading Sequence and the Forklift We Actually Rented

Site Prep and the Slab We Actually Found

We verified with a diamond core before we ordered anchors, and we confirmed that the rebar mat was 12 inches on-center in both directions. That let us use standard 3/4-inch wedge anchors torqued to 110 foot-pounds without any concrete cutout work.

Configuration Choices for a Lifted-Truck Shop

An overland builder is servicing trucks that are already 4 to 6 inches taller than stock, sometimes with rooftop tents, sometimes with rear tire carriers, and always with a longer approach angle than a factory rig. The car lift automotive configuration we spec for that reality has extra-long runways, higher lift capacity than the average four-post, and a low approach angle on the drive-on ramps so a bumper-mounted winch does not snag the ramp lip.

We also spec extension ramps to add another 12 inches of runway length, so a full-size lifted crew-cab with a bed rack still sits inside the wheel stops.
