The Decision He Made and Why

He ended up choosing the baseplate configuration, and the deciding factor wasn’t price — it was actually the ceiling height margin. Even though the low-profile overhead unit technically fit, he wanted more buffer for future vehicles that might be taller, and the baseplate option gave him that without any compromise. He tested vehicle positioning with tape on the floor before the used unit even arrived, confirming his daily driver would clear the base housing with room to spare.
