The customer had built out a 30 by 40 pole building with 14-foot side walls specifically so he could work on his rig at ride height. He wanted to do his own exhaust work, transmission service, and skid plate maintenance without paying shop labor every time. The 4Runner sat at just over 80 inches to the roof rack, which meant any lift that only got the tires two feet off the ground would leave the vehicle roof brushing the trusses.

What mattered more than weight was the geometry of the tires and the approach angle. The cycle test went by the book. First lift with the empty arms extended, then with a test weight, then with the 4Runner itself. Locks engaged on the audible click at every notch.
