Replace cables in pairs on a symmetric lift; replace on the first sign of broken wires, kinks, corrosion, or uneven arm travel that persists after retensioning. Cylinders themselves are long-lived, but seals and pistons wear far sooner — most “cylinder failures” are a seal kit, a plunger, and fresh AW-32 fluid. Lock ladders and pawl hardware are cheap; replace them together with the release cables while the columns are open, because half of the labor is the disassembly.

Before ordering, take a clear phone photo of the data tag on the powerside column. Forward-branded serial tags carry the model number, serial, and manufacture date. That combination tells us which production revision your F12 shipped with, and F12 hose lengths, cable routing, and arm generations changed more than once during the run. Serial-tag lookup is how we make sure the cable and hose you receive match what came off — not close-but-wrong parts from a different revision year that will bind at a sheave or come up short at the fitting.
