Four-post lifts and portable mid-rise or scissor lifts spread weight across a larger footprint and, depending on the model, sometimes have somewhat more flexible placement requirements since the ramps and runways aren’t fixed to one exact bolt pattern the way a two-post column is.

That said, don’t assume a four-post lift lets you skip home garage concrete requirements altogether — most still specify a minimum thickness and PSI, and drive-on ramps still need to sit on a stable, level surface to avoid rocking or shifting under vehicle weight.
