Figuring out how to choose lift arms is one of those jobs that seems simple until you’re standing in front of a parts catalog with a dozen arm styles and no idea which one actually fits your lift, your vehicle mix, and your bay. Start With Your Lift’s Make and Model, Not the Arm Itself

The number one mistake we see is someone shopping for lift arms before they’ve confirmed the exact lift they own. Rotary, Challenger, BendPak, and Atlas all design arms around their own carriage geometry, pin spacing, and locking mechanisms — an arm that looks close on paper often won’t bolt up, or worse, will bolt up but load unevenly. Before you start comparing arm styles, pull the serial tag off your lift’s column and have the model number ready. Four-post lifts are a different animal since the vehicle rolls on and doesn’t rely on arm geometry for balance, but many four-post owners add jack-beam or rolling bridge attachments, which is really a lift-arm-adjacent decision worth making at the same time. Aftermarket replacements exist for most popular lift models, and quality varies a lot more than with the arms themselves — some are excellent, some use lower-grade steel or imprecise locking mechanisms that wear fast.
