The inspection also verifies the lift is anchored correctly for the concrete it’s sitting on and rated for the vehicles actually being lifted on it. A lift installed a decade ago for sedans and now hoisting three-quarter-ton trucks needs a fresh look at both capacity and anchoring. How Often You Actually Need It

Common findings include worn hydraulic seals causing slow drift, corroded anchor bolts that need replacement, cables past their wear limit, or locking mechanisms that stick instead of engaging cleanly. We flag each issue by severity: some require the lift taken out of service immediately, others can run for a short window with a documented repair plan already scheduled.

That means logging daily visual checks by whoever operates the lift each shift, keeping records of any unusual noise or drift reported by techs, and scheduling the formal inspection at the same time every year so it never slips.
