Most detached garages have this available if the original build ran a subpanel; older garages sometimes have only 120V and require a subpanel upgrade before the columns can be installed. Checklist Item Four: Hydraulic Cylinder Inspection Intervals

Column-set hydraulic cylinders live inside each column and drive the lifting carriage up the pole. They see regular use but at short stroke lengths compared with fixed 2-post cylinders. Manufacturer-recommended inspection interval on the CLMM-5000 cylinders is annual, which means a visual check for oil weeps, a listen for pump noise on the up cycle, and a torque check on the pole-plate bolts. Full seal replacement is typically not required until year eight or later depending on cycle count.
