Ceiling Height, Clearance, and Roof Pitch

We ask every pole barn owner three numbers before we recommend equipment: eave height, peak height, and clearance at the lift’s actual footprint, not just the tallest point of the roof. A pole barn with a lower pitch might have plenty of height at the ridge but not much once you move toward the sidewalls, which is often where the lift needs to sit to leave a walking aisle. Two-post lifts need headroom for the vehicle plus the arms and carriage at full rise, and four-post lifts need clearance for a vehicle parked on top of the runways.

If the priority is fast access for brake and suspension work, a two-post like a Rotary or Challenger model is worth the extra slab prep.
