The differences between the Rotary and the Challenger at this tier are modest. The Rotary is slightly heavier at comparable capacity, which some fleet managers read as a durability signal. The Challenger has a slightly different pad-plate design that some technicians prefer. The Challenger’s finish is a matte gray while the Rotary is a gloss red — irrelevant to safety but sometimes preferred for interior shop lighting. Both lifts will serve a municipal fleet well for fifteen years or more. The decision between them for us is almost always availability, and we tell the fleet manager exactly that.
